i am enough: International Women’s Day

Let me first say that the fact that I’m even speaking about this is miraculous. Fear used to be my best friend, until I became my best friend. I inspired inclusion starting with me! I finally realized…I AM ENOUGH!

In a moment of self-talk, I realized what I had to do to achieve my dream….to fulfill my dream…to fulfill my purpose by walking in my power as a Christ-confident woman. I had to take care of me. I had to make myself a priority, focus on self-care so I could positively impact others.

Let me first say that the fact that I’m even speaking about this is miraculous. Fear used to be my best friend, until I became my best friend. I inspired inclusion starting with me! I finally realized…I AM ENOUGH!

Inspiring Inclusion…that’s what March 8th, International Women’s Day is all about.  What better way for me to inspire inclusion than to share my journey from self-doubt to self-empowerment?

Before launching Awesome Life For All, LLC (ALFA), I had always dreamed about it. I dreamed about how I could empower women to achieve their awesome, more-fulfilled lives through my inspirational tee-shirts, by showing up wearing them, by sharing them.  I envisioned myself speaking before women as an encourager, as a mentor, as a giver….as all the things God had already placed in me. But…one thing was missing. I was not walking in my confidence, nor was I empowering myself to achieve MY awesome life potential. How could I possibly impact the lives of other women when I was not living in awesomeness?

So, I invested in myself. I found a personal coach, I invested time, money, and built more positive relationships. And you know what...I’ve never been more free than I am now. I decided to walk in my boldness, my power, my awesomeness! I decided that I am enough. I decided that I deserved to have an awesome life, and doesn’t everyone?

And that’s why I launched Awesome Life For All…because I saw myself in the women I desired to empower. I saw a reflection of myself…the overworked, undervalued, underappreciated woman with self-doubt. That was me. I know and always knew how important words are, which is why one of my favorite inspirational tees says – “Words Matter”. Not only do words matter, but I matter, and you matter. Not only do you matter, but you deserve an awesome life. And how can you or anyone have an awesome life if you’re hungry? And yes, while being hungry can be viewed metaphorically, I mean it literally.

And so it was, Awesome Life For All was birthed, with intent, purpose, and compassion…to empower women, and to encourage all women to seek and explore their opportunity to become awesome, because it’s already in them. To become awesome just by simply shining a glimpse of light and hope toward the cause of hunger, while projecting positivity through inspirational sayings on tees. Inspiration and Inclusion, all the things we remind ourselves of on this day of recognition.

Not only am I passionate about empowering women, I am also passionate about those who don’t have enough to eat. Hunger is global, it impacts communities, the young, the old, people of color, and hunger is no respecter of persons. I say to women, to you, to those who may be hungry for whatever you’re hungry for…

As you enjoy the joy of International Women’s Day, make it a point to inspire someone with a kind word, a quote that ignites courage and confidence within you; include them on a group text telling them, “Girl, you’ve got this”, simply wish them Happy International Women’s Day and share what a joy it is to have them in your life.

Be Inspiring! Be Inclusive! Be Intentional!
Be Bold! Be Awesome! Be You!
